Directions from Chicago area. (Drive time is about 6 hours.)

1. Go east on I-94 through Indiana into Michigan. How you get to I-94 will vary depending upon where you live.

2. Once in Michigan proceed north on I-94 34 miles.

3. At Benton Harbor take exit 34 (I-196 North/US-31 North–Holland/Grand Rapids) north on US-31 about 44 miles.

4. At Exit 44 US-31 goes to the left toward Lake Michigan/Holland/Muskegon, (I-196 splits east to Grand Rapids). Continue north on US-31 for 92 miles. This will be four lane divided highway from Holland to Muskegon, then expressway to Ludington.

5. At Ludington, turn right at the end of the expressway ramp where the sign reads "US-10 East/US-31" (to Traverse City).

6. Stay on US-31 as it turns left at the blinking light in about 3 miles (before Scottville) and continue north.

Alternative 1: The more direct route for the "last miles:"

1. Continue north on US-31 through Manistee and Benzonia/Beulah to the city limits of Honor, MI. Turn left onto Indian Hill Road, which is just past the Cherry Bowl Drive-in movie theatre on the left. If you get to the Honor Building Supply lumber yard you've gone too far.

2. Turn left on Indian Hill Road and proceed 6 miles to the second stop sign at Fowler Road/CR 610. Turn left on CR-610/Fowler Road and west 1/2 mile.

3. Turn right on M-22 and proceed north for 13 miles (you will pass through Empire) to the stop sign in Glen Arbor. We are on the corner.

Alternative 2: The route easier to follow, but longer, for the "last miles:"

1. Continue north on US-31 through Manistee to Benzonia, MI. Turn left onto M-115 (there is a stoplight at the intersection) and then west about 7 miles to M-22.

2. Turn right on M-22 and north for 31 miles to the stop sign in Glen Arbor. We are on the corner. Note: This route travels the south side of Crystal Lake and through resort communities that make the drive slower in the summer.

Directions from Southeastern Michigan. (Drive time is about 4 ½-5 hours from Detroit.)

1. Take I-75/US-23 north to Bay City.
   
   
2. Exit at 162B onto US-10 toward Midland.
   
   
3. Continue about 50 miles to Clare and merge onto US-10/M-115 toward Ludington/Cadillac
   
   
4. Continue about 8 more miles on US-10/M-115, then stay on M-115 for 55 miles through Cadillac to M-37, which is just before Mesick.
   
   
5. Turn north/right onto M-37 and 27 miles into Traverse City (M-37 merges with US-31 north at Chum's Corner)
   
   
6. Stay on M-37/US-31 north to the water (and stoplight) at Grand Traverse Bay.
   
   
7. At the water in Traverse City turn left on M-72 west for .5 miles to the next stop light where M-72 turns left.
   
   
8. Make the left turn at the stoplight and continue on M-72 about 20 miles toward Empire, including following the jog to the right and then left at the blinker light.
   
   
9. Turn right/north at County Road 677 3.4 miles until you reach M-22, then turn right and immediately left across the Glen Lake Narrows Bridge on M-22.
   
   
10. Continue on M-22 about 3 miles to the stop sign in Glen Arbor. You are there-- we are on the corner just ahead of you.
